To personalize your Blackberry device you need to download and activate a Theme.

A Blackberry Theme changes the look and feel of your Blackberry by replacing some or most of the graphics used by the UI (user interface).

A Theme replaces the default icons and backgrounds by personalized versions. See image below;

A well-designed theme could improve interaction with your device by providing a cleaner and more intuitive interface. It could also add functionality to your device by adding functions on the home screen, like animations, rotating backgrounds, or hot links in some key areas of the screen.

If you have the Blackberry Operating System 5 or older, to activate a Theme go to Options/Theme and select the Theme you want to activate from the list.

If you have the Blackberry Operating System 6 or newer, to activate a Theme click on your Options icon and select Display.  On the Display screen choose Screen Display.  Scroll down to the bottom of the screen to find your list of downloaded Themes that are available to activate.

Options -> Display -> Screen Display -> select Theme to activate from the list -> Activate

Using your Blackberry

To buy a Theme from BerryLab we recommend to visit our website www.berrylab.com using your Blackberry browser.

When you access our website using your Blackberry we identify your Blackberry model and display to you the products we have available for your device.

To buy a Theme using your Blackberry open your browser, go to www.berrylab.com, select a theme from our Catalogue, and look for the “Buy Now” button in the next screen. Follow the payment instructions.

Please note, at the moment we accept PayPal and Credit Card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express and JBC Cards) as the method of payment. We’ll be accepting Mobile Billing* directly from your carrier shortly.

Once the payment is confirmed you are redirected to a page to download the purchased theme.

Important; When you use Paypal as the method of payment please make sure you have access from your Blackberry to the email you used to log in with Paypal, otherwise you won't be able to re-initiate the download of the Theme you purchased if for any reason the connection fails the first time.

Using a Desktop computer

If you are using a desktop computer open your browser and go to www.berrylab.com. Go to Catalogue and select the Blackberry model you have, and then select the Theme of your preference. In the next window with details of the Theme enter an email that you can access with your Blackberry device.

You will receive an email with a link and instructions to buy and download the theme.

Once you buy and download the Theme you will receive another email with details of your purchase. Please do not delete this email. If for any reason the downloading process fails you can download the Theme again by following the link provided in this email.

*Mobile Billing will be available initially for US customers only. The $ amount of your purchase will be added to your carrier monthly bill. We are working hard for Mobile Billing to become available in other countries. Stay tuned.

When you activate a new Theme the position of the icons is reset to the default configuration. i.e. icons from applications you have downloaded like Facebook which you may have moved to the another folder will be re-positioned to the Downloads folder of your Blackberry.

You will have to re-arrange your icons every time you install a new Theme. This will happen only the first time you activate a Theme after installation.

To delete a Theme go to Options/Applications. Select the Theme you want to delete from the list.

The next screen; “Application Properties” will give you the option to Delete the Theme.

Please note that once you delete a Theme you won’t be able to use it anymore unless you download it again. If you just want to keep the Theme just de-activate it.

If you don’t want to use a Theme anymore but you want to keep it in your Blackberry device simply activate a different Theme.

Go to Options/About. Usually the third line displays the OS installed in your device. The numbering after "v" shows your OS.

For example, a value of v5.0.0.351 (Platform 5.1.0.98) indicates that 5.0 is the OS installed on your device

No, BerryLab only provides OTA (Over The Air) downloads. You will require a data plan to install our Themes or Applications

When you create an account with BerryLab you can download any Theme previously purchased without paying again.

WWhether you have upgraded your Blackberry OS or bought a brand new model, simply log in into your account and go to “My account” to select and download any a Theme you have previously purchased.

Note: We will gradually update our Themes to support newest Blackberry OS (Operative System) released by RIM. We are currently working on upgrading most of our Themes to OS 6. BerryLab reserves the right to update only selected Themes.

For Visa, Master Card and Discover:

The Card security code is located on the back of MasterCard, Visa and Discover credit or debit cards and is typically a separate group of 3 digits to the right of the signature strip.

For American Express, JBC:

On American Express cards, the Card security code is a printed, not embossed, group of four digits on the front towards the right.
